It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 12th edition of Colegio Fontanar Model United Nations. As we gather to debate, negotiate, and build solutions, we step into a moment shaped by uncertainty, innovation, and rapid global change. Our topic, “Searching for Ambitious Minds Willing to Lead the World Into a New Era,” seeks to develop your capacity to change the world, not only at a scholastic level but also nationally or internationally.

Being part of a society implies many responsibilities, and as the new generation, we have the opportunity to lead the world into a better future and shape it for ourselves. This conference challenges us to confront the realities of a world changing faster than policy, and not only to understand the world as it is, but to imagine the world as it could be. I encourage you to approach this opportunity with the best attitude, because you matter, and your impact strengthens this community.

Debate boldly, but listen deeply. Challenge assumptions, but stay open to compromise. The goal of diplomacy is not to defeat an opponent, but to understand one another well enough to build meaningful solutions. As we begin, remember that every resolution starts with a single idea and every leader begins with a single step. These three days, take that step with confidence. Let this conference be a place where diplomacy rises above division, where innovation meets integrity, and where each of you discovers the power you hold to impact the world. Lead with empathy.
